I like a little bit, but the bigger question is: why? Why they changed it? Now they must have in mind to do a big marketing campaign.. Atleast i hope..
@jwolf dear your logic is right, I agree with your feelings, but I think there should be some change on any thing by time by time to release boring.now go forward and hope that every thing should be better.
I think that the main reason behind this change is because the developers really wanted to separete the Steem as a cryptocurrencie from Steemit as the social platform and in a way makes a lot of sense!
About the design dont know what to say but as well i got used with the old logo... Steemit is still very young and it will go through a lot of changes so more and more will come in the near future...
All we have to do is just Steem On!

Change is for the good. I think some drop shadow must be added in the new logo.

You can only do that if you get permission from Steemit Inc. They trademarked the new logo.
yap you right new logo and the new steemit with green feel like lifeless ... before logo was better and blue was look full of life
