CPS: The worst are the best at playing good
Parents who are not abusive to their kids do not have a strategy on how to deal with CPS. It is a scenario they would never have had to contemplate. Nervousness, confusion, anger, would be seen as typical reactions from a parent thrust into the lunacy of an unjust interaction with CPS.
The metamorphosis, however, of said reactions into evidence of your 'crimes' will happen at a dizzying, disturbing speed. Case workers will use this lack of preparedness as a fulcrum to exploit the situation further. Best case scenario is a traumatic, lasting experience. A successful kidnapping, carried out by your country's child protective services, is the much-too-common worst case.
