More Fun in the Philippines

We are not born in this world already having the idea about how to be a patriotic. It's our family who need to teach us, the school and society on how we must live as a good citizens. Don't wonder why many of us is a good son inside the house, but not good in the neighborhood or obedient in the law. Should need to teach each one to be a good citizens.

We are being one of our culture, language and history. We are both have the same experienced. It says that if there's a thing that you don't know then you are not a Pinoy authentic. Did you know TVJ of Eat Bulaga? Have you been eaten a balut or a rotten egg? Did you know where is the Hinulugang Taktak? Did you used to filled water on plastic bottles of Coke and Sprite?

Are you fond on shouting "Pssst!" If you call your friend on the street? What church is at the back of the old brown ten-piso bill? If you answered the majority of this question correctly, more or less you really is an authentic Pinoy.

The concept of "nation" is an "imagined community" or it's in our mind. Many thought that they are part of one country even though not all meet and have personal interaction. The mass media communication helps in this feeling. If you ask those from Batanes if they are a Filipino, of course, they will answered yes. And so are our fellow citizens in Bicol and Visayas. But it's different case on our fellow citizens in Mindanao which says that they already have a territory and government even long before the Republic of the Philippines is established (e.i. Sultanate of Maguindanao and Sulu).

Our being as one nation is based on idea that even though we are separated by the oceans but we are still connected of our will in thoughts and mind. Even the terms that we use mirrored our connection and so as being one body. It's famous to us the sayings "the hurt of the little finger can be felt by the whole body." If one part has a problem, surely there's an effect of the other.

It is important to us to be part of the community which sets different abilities and role of each one person. We called the president as "pangulo" (head) of our nation who's the one who thinks and leads all. Our Congress and Senators are called as "kinatawan" representative of our nation. Our leaders also have "kanang kamay" right hand or assistants. And also have "galamay" minions those leaders of their jurisdiction. It's just so difficult to detached ourselves to others.
