Syria: America's Next Proxy War with Russia

in #politics8 years ago

The ground war in Syria has been nothing short of an international mess. Russia continues to back sitting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, while the US under the less than exemplary leadership of Obama continues to support Syrian rebels (ISIS; ISIL; name your alphabet soup group here).

The relationship between Obama and Putin has been nothing short of a personal Cold War type campaign with each trying to blame the other on the international scene. Obama has drawn lines in the sand, and Putin has pissed on them every chance he gets. Now it seems as if there might be more than just a bit of bad blood between the two...it seems as though some people are seriously concerned about the US and how it might be planning to participate in a proxy war with Russia on Syrian soil.
