Marin County
The hills above San Francisco in Marin County are some of my favorites. Many of the photos you see of this place show the hills peaking out above a thick layer of fog and clouds which is very common in the Bay area. When I visited in April, not only was the grass green and the California poppies in full bloom, but the night was cloudless, and the view of the ocean was unparalleled. If you look close you can see a big freighter just to the left of center in this photo.
