Every individual has his or her own way of making jellof rice, for me I’ll say that no one actually taught me how to make this particular meal. But I guess I learnt through slight looks whenever it’s been prepared by my sister

Below are my ingredients for making my jellof rice

  • Raw rice
  • Pepper
  • Fresh tomatoes
  • Onions
  • Magi
  • Salt
  • Satchet/tin paste

First of all I will have to wash my rice with a sieve and a running water from a tap, to avoid and dirt or sand in it then I poured it into the pot to per boil it . Meanwhile while the rice is been per boiled I started with cutting your tomatoes, onions and pounding your pepper.

Then I watched the rice for 25munites then bring it down to wash it the second time. This time I was careful with the washing because the rice was hot, so I used a sieve also.

When I'm done with washing the rice I pout my groundnut oil into the pot and let it get steemmed then I'll add my Magi, I added two cubes because I wasn't making a large quantity of rice after that I added a little quantity of salt and pured in my tomatoes and onions. Though some people prefer per boiling the tomatoes before using it but I always love using them raw in other to get the exact test of it, so after I stared it and let it dry together with the groundnut oil for a while

After sometime I added my stock fish and added a little water to let the ingredients circulate then I finally added the white rice, more water and I tasted it there was no much salt then I had to add more salt.
