"When a poor person dies of hunger, it has not happened because God did not take care of him or her. It has happened because neither you nor I wanted to give that person what he or she needed."
— Mother Teresa, Roman Catholic nun
Have you ever been in the situation where you have nothing to eat or drink for days or weeks? Not because you have the money to buy but there is no food, not because you and your church are fasting and praying, not because you dont feel like eating but rather there is no money to buy for yourself even a low class meal or a good water to drink!!!! This is the typical definition of poverty for me and this is the situation some people across the globe find themselves in especially kids in Africa and the rest of the world. "Poverty is like punishment for a crime you didn't commit."
— Eli Khamarov, writer. These kids are really being punished for the crime they didnt commit as said by Eli khamarov.
In the streets of Africa, poverty is that strong that you will get to see an 8 year old kid selling just to survive. These kids go through a lot of pain just to make ends meet. Most of these kids have no parents, no shelter, no accommodation not to talk about education. I remember I met some kids that sleep in uncompleted buildings and i asked them that dont they get sick, and when they do get sick how do they survive? The response from the eldest amongst them got me in tears. He said they do get sick but how they heal is just a miracle. They just sit back and watch the disease walk away and where it goes or how they heal, they have no idea. These kids are the future of the Africa and the world at large. We have great doctors, great entrepreneurs, great business men, great musicians and great presidents amongst these kids. Poverty is rather transforming these kids to become armed robbers, drug dealers, rapists, terrorists etc just because they want to survive.
I want to use this platform to say a big thank you to the steemit Ghana team for the great work they are doing. @Ackza,@Mughat,@kofpato,@yawgh,@steem4thepoor ,@anaman,@richforever,@enockagbo,@desmond41 and all the good guys out there sacrificing all they have just to put a smile on the faces of these poor kids on the streets. The kids really appreciate and will forever remember you guys for the smile you put on their faces.I want to encourage youguys to continue the good work and I know the father in heaven will surely repay you guys one day.
Steemit can be that platform that can be used to eliminate poverty all over the world if we continue these good works worldwide.
