A Guide to Posting on SteemHunt

STEEM HUNT GUIDE.png

Have you heard of SteemHunt?

It's the new way to earn STEEM on the STEEM blockchain and instead of writing a bunch of words nobody will probably read, you earn STEEM by sharing cool gadgets and products with the SteemHunt community.

Yeah, it's that simple.

Well sort of.

So let me explain in more detail...

SteemHunt has been around for a number of months and has been working on getting the Voting and Reward system working to perfection.

You can read more detail about ABV 2.0 here, but in summary, the more you contribute to the community, the better your chances of being rewarded by the SteemHunt Bot are each day.

More specifically, each user is given a SteemHunt Hunter Level (starting at 0) and as they post products, share their opinion and upvote other cool products their reputation increases (or decreases) and at the end of the day the SteemHunt Bot allocates upvotes based on the reputation of the user.

Previously, it was a race to see who could get the most votes, but that was being gamed and as the ultimate goal is to foster a passionate community of Steem Hunters, ABV 2.0 was born.

Anyway enough with the semantics, as you're probably here to learn more about SteemHunt and how to Post a SteemHunt for yourself.

So when I decided to create a video tutorial for my YouTube audience, I thought I'd post it here on Steemit too, so you can give SteemHunt.com a try for yourself.

You'll just need your Steem Account to log into the site. And it's not paywalled so browsing is always free.

If you don't have a Steem Account you get a free one here - https://signup.steemit.com/

So let's roll the video...

How to Post on SteemHunt

And if you liked the video please share with friends as watchtime really helps the video to reach more people organically.

Which in turn helps get the SteemHunt message out there.

And finally...

SteemHunt is Open Source so here's the code for the software.

You seem to be very knowledgable and quite skilled at creating video content. I would like to help you create the best tutorials you can for Utopian, benefit learners and help you get the maximum reward for your efforts. Utopian has a thorough set guidelines that content creators can use to refine their posts and qualify for the maximum rewards. While you did cover some of the guidelines in your submission several others were missed. Here is a link to our guidelines - https://join.utopian.io/guidelines/ Have a good look through the general and video tutorial category specific guidelines to make sure that any future contributions you make are the best they can be.

I am happy to clarify any guidelines and help you with your contributions. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

Utopian Community Manager - Video Tutorials

Hi Bucky,

Unfortunately, conformity isn't my strong point whereas non-conformity is.

It pays to be unique in this world and although I started looking at the Utopian-io guidelines I felt they were a little dry and I wasn't being true to myself by following them.

Some part of my brain says shut up and take the money, whilst the dominant part says 'Be yourself and continue to live outside the box'

I've tried several times to catch Utopian-io's attention and the only successful time is when I played inside your box.

However, this doesn't make for exciting reading or viewing so will continue to do it my way.

And this is especially true of a video tutorial where the bulk of the work goes into developing a storyline, scripts and video editing and then I'm expected to write a dry post to compliment it.

I'm sorry this feedback isn't probably what you want to hear but for a community that inspires open source creators and creative thinkers, I feel the formalization part of your process really lets your movement down.

That said, I'll continue to use the utopian-io tag for my work as I believe my work in its current form can still add value to the open source community.

But an upvote or explanation isn't expected in the future.

After all, we are working towards the same goal. We want to help the open source creators grow and give them the encouragement and exposure they need to keep pushing forward.

If I can do this in my unconventional way, and it still works, then it doesn't make it wrong.

Thanks for the feedback @just2random. These are valid points. There are many ways to accomplish the teaching/learning goal that we all share. We are actively moving to create an environment where unique approaches to content creation can be supported by Utopian and grow the Open Source community. This is VERY tricky as the scammers are waiting in the wings to jump in with crap content and expect support. Your content is obviously well thought out and executed.

I would encourage to you to continue what you are doing. Be unique and creative, but still include us in your plan. There is a place for content delivered in an educationally sound, but 'different' format. Let's keep the line of communication open between us as we and the Open Source community can benefit from your knowledge and skills.

Cheers,
Bucky
