Hello everybody,
My Christmas preparation is just too simple and using what materials I do have because everybody knows its pandemic time and we must live within our budget. I do not have christmas decor before I could keep, we were just renting small rooms, no extra space for decors. Then, our new tiny house was just built last January. What I did was to crochet wind spinner and decorated the Alateris tree in front of our house. This tree served as our Christmas tree because of it's form it looks like a Christmas Tree.
Very thankful I have enough red and green yarn from my stash, the color of Christmas. Adding to the wind spinners I made before hand.
I made this last Wednesday when we were just at home, relaxing from our travel.
The history of the Alateris tree
I planted two Alateris Tree in front of the gate 3 meters apart. I got the planting materials just at the side of the house where the birds brought by, just last February of this year. We are now amazed how it grew tall rapidly. Then I realized it could be our Christmas tree and shade or like an umbrella to protect us from sun.
I placed the solar christmas light I ordered from shoppee to complete the Christmas tree.
During night time when the weather is fine, me and hubby just sat outside the front house and happy to see the light went off and on. I told him I did the right thing planting this Alateris tree in front of the gate. Plus when the wind blew the wind spinners, spin so fast. Of course, me, the maker is very happy.
I crocheted also two long wind spinner in front of the door. But the other one still a work-in-progress because it is too long about 220 starting chains it took long time to finish especially on the 4th row need to fill in 3 double crochet in each previous two double crochet, it formed the curls.
Though simple decor I think Christmas in our hearts is the most important of all and continue our pinoy tradition.

You are very creative tlaga mommy dearest. Sana nakuha ko din yang love and passion mo about crochet dami ko na din siguro nagawa. You are not only creative but also very resourceful. Never saying no, or I can't..... you always find ways..... haha parang BDO lang.
I love those twirls hanging on your cotton candy berry plant. I remember making those kinds during my elementary years but made from Japanese paper or crepe paper. Yours have a very special touch because you crocheted it. Now you have a very unique and alive and fresh Christmas tree. wooooohooooooo! Every year you tree grows and maybe five years from now your Christmas tree will be huge!! now we need thet whole family to make their own crocheted Christmas decor, maybe making it a yarn bomb Christmas tree. haha! That would be awesome!
Anyways, that is what the true essence of Christmas spending it with your love ones, giving, loving, respecting each other.
By the way, have you tasted the fruit of your cotton candy berry tree or Jamaican cherry? I bet you have nature singing there everyday because birds love to perch on that tree because of its fruit.

Ang awesome po talaga mi ng wind spinner mopo sa alateris tree tapos sinamahan mopa ng cute na christmas light. Kahit simple pero sariling gawa mopo mi, ang ganda! 🌟🌟🌟
