My Simple Stir-Fried Pancit Dish With Veggies

in #food9 years ago (edited)
Hey there Steemians!

Today, I am going to share to you my own noodle recipe or pansit dish. By the way, "pansit" or "pancit" are "noodles" in Filipino cuisine, generally. As per Wiki, the word "pancit" is derived from the Hokkien pian i sit, which means convenient food, literally.

Going back to its history, it was the early Chinese Filipino settlers in the Philippines, who introduced the noodles. It has been fully embraced by the local cuisines over the centuries. Fast forward to the future, there are now a lot of variants and types of pancit noodles in the country that you can buy conveniently at the supermarkets, and which you can readily cook at home.

Basically, I have learned to cook pancit by watching simple videos and food tutorials. I tried doing my own simple recipe and incorporate it with just some not-so-demanding ingredients. It's just plain and intended for home consumption, especially when I am in a hurry mode, for this meal doesn't really require a lot of time.

Cooking The Pancit

I call this home-made dish as stir-fried pancit noodles with mixed veggies. All we need for this food preparation are the following ingredients:
*cooking oil
*onion and garlic minced
*a 1/2 cup of water
*pancit mix (usually this product is a combination of carrots, cabbage, a few string beans mix altogether in a pack, and are available in the groceries and supermarkets)
*pancit (noodles)
*knorr pork cubes
*salt and seasoning

First up, you have to heat oil in the pan pan. Once heated, saute' the onions and garlic. Put in the pork cubes and melt it. Then, add just a half cup of water, and the pancit. Simmer for a few minutes until the noodles is cooked and the water is drained out. Then, put the pancit mix. Add a pinch of salt and seasoning. Stir fry, until the ingredients are mixed thoroughly and cooked. Then, serve.

I hope you will like this dish if you're going to try it. I also add pork meat into this recipe sometimes. I use the pork cutlets. If there are none available, I use the adobo cut but I slice it in medium bits. What I do is, I just pan fry the meat until it turns golden brown and proceed with the steps aforementioned.

That's it for now. I hope you have a good one. Happy morning to those who just woke up from the other side of the world, and a pleasant afternoon on this side of the planet.
