Mambukal Resort

in #travel9 years ago (edited)

On the day of our arrival in Bacolod, my friends decided that we head straight to Mambukal Resort after dropping off our things at the hotel we were staying. It was a few hours away by land travel from our hotel. That's why we hit the road the earliest possible time.

Now, I am talking here about a few years back. This is apparently a throwback of our escapade in 2012.

And so, we reached the Mambukal Resort mid-day and then we settled in for lunch first, at a nearby food stalls, before we start our trekking adventure, up to the waterfalls.

We successfully reached the third waterfalls but we had to halt. Our friend Niky was already complaining that her legs were getting weak and shaky, and was afraid she'd be left behind if we pursued it.

The weather was not too cooperative of us at that moment, too. The rain sporadically poured down while we were at the hype of climbing to the top. So we gave up. It was such a tall order.

The problem didn't stop there. The current was getting stronger and we needed to find a way to cross the "river" and get to the mountain top on the other side, to get back to the main entrance. Luckily some locals there including our guide was ready to help. Here's the crazy thing we did:

After getting to the other side safely, each of us rode a "habal-habal" to get us back to entrance area.

Before going back to the hotel, we decided to take a dip first into their hot spring and swimming pool.

We met these Koreans there who gamely pose for a photoop. They were also having the time of their life exploring the resort.
