Today, I’m grateful for:

  1. Small waves that gently rock the boat. They say that the moment you feel comfortable and stop innovating, that's when you fall behind. I think the same applies to our relationship with God. The second that we feel like everything is great in our lives and start taking it in more than thanking the Lord for all He is providing to make that possible, we are backtracking. The only way for us to continue to achieve and experience all that we hope for is to keep ourselves focused on God and our faith throughout our lives, because at the end of the day, we haven't achieved anything...He's just been gracious enough to bless us with these "achievements". And when we get too comfortable, a small wave that comes and requires us to re-balance and right the ship is often the perfect show of His love, guiding us back on track.

  2. Another day of life!

  3. God's incredible way of seamlessly guiding us in the right direction, even when we don't know it, or even when we doubt it.

We can never count our blessings enough, so I will look to make my gratitude different each time, as I continue to be given so much every day.

But every day, #2 will be my expression of gratitude for the chance to live another day, as it truly is a gift, not a guarantee. And #3 will always be dedicated to Him, for being our eternal guidance and our loving Father.

What are you grateful for?

Sort:

Grateful for Being healty ! And that the sun is shining so the dog dryed quick 😬😬

Agreed! Haha yes the simple things are often the best, like the dog drying quick. Hope you have a blessed day!

Amen brother! I am grateful for the life that He has given me today! For the #2 that you have mentioned, it is extremely easy to take that for granted, but in the meantime we all know there will most likely be tomorrow, but tomorrow doesn't necessary to have me/you. We, human, tends to think that we can control everything and be God of our lives :)

Yes, absolutely. The world may go on every day, but every new day for us truly is a gift. Very awesome, thank you for sharing your thoughts!

The second that we feel like everything is great in our lives and start taking it in more than thanking the Lord for all He is providing to make that possible, we are backtracking.

I often find myself elated that things are going so well, just to get the feeling that tomorrow there will be punishment for that same feeling.

Such a worry of course is not from the Lord, but what is to be understood, is knowing that this world and the things in it are not meant to give us contentment. Contentment and sufficiency are from the Father only! Everything we are given by him to provide for our bodies and journey here on earth are gifts, given in greater and greater abundance as we are able to receive them without loosing our embrace on the source.

Yet, some receive such little earthly blessings, yet know the Lord deeply. Be it not ours to understand. I thank Him for what I have and what I do not, daily.

Be blessed this day in all that He has given you and even more in what He has not.

I thank Him for what I have and what I do not, daily.

Peace of mind starts with thanking Him for what we have without thought to what we do not have. In my humble opinion thanking the Lord for not giving me more or even none at all of something presupposes some subconscious desire for such which was not given me and therefore signifies a certain degree of discontent for the things He has given me. But I agree with you that we are blessed everyday even with what He has not given us because I believe everything He does and gives are for our own good and not for anything else. So if it is not given us, have faith that it is for the best.

Sing songs of praise to the Lord for He is good. All the time.

Yes, brother, indeed. this was the message in my message.

So if it is not given us, have faith that it is for the best

I am very grateful that I am not loaded with stuff or possessions that can make threading the camel through the eye of needle even harder. I am so abundantly blessed in His perfect proportions!

"In all that He has given you and even more in what He has not". Really liked what you said, and often we have so much to appreciate from the things that we are not given for good reason. Thanks for your thoughts today brother.

Yes, I have absolute faith it is for very good reason and truthfully via His spirit I do not believe I covet anything, but then again, I am truly the worst judge of myself.

I have enjoyed seeing your message everyday. Perhaps Gems will share a thought or two I can steem along.

Blessings!

@bycoleman reply to this post has really touched me....
Was seriously praying for a new job 2years ago cus the one I had then hardly gave me the time I wanted to worship God the way I wanted. I even promised myself that even if God doesn't help me get a new job, I'll still resign from the one I had and better serve my God with my time...but God was faithful and November that same year I got the job am doing right now.. it was all I asked for, for it gives me much time to do what I want.. but the problem is that the pay is very low compared to the former one I had. And started begging God for the pay to be increased and even started using the time I wanted to use in service to Him in working on another work just to Ballance the bills....

Very often I feel so sad cus deep down I feel like am so ungrateful for what God did for me...
I mean I prayed for a job that will give me time to worship him better which he did give me..I didn't even thank him enough for that only for me to run back to him Nd pray for salary raise as if he didn't know I'll be able to survive with the salary they pay when He gave me the job.. worst of all, am using the time I so wanted to use for him now to work for myself...
What an ungrateful man I am...
I so wanna work on my lifestyle and budget so I can make do with what am earning so I can use the time I prayed for which He gave me to serve him better....
Am praying for the strength to do this and your prayers too might help me... So that for once my heart can rest and tell me your grateful for what GOD has done for you

God is always there for us when we need Him most, and He answers all our prayers, like he did yours! You are not ungrateful, it's just our human nature to constantly ask for more. I think that will never end, because He even gives us so much that we forget to ask for, but if we can just be more grateful for the things that are provided, I think that is a great start! Hope you have a blessed day!

Peter, the apostle, began to sink in the water the moment his eyes left the Lord. Big waves or small waves the message is the same. Keep your eyes on the Lord at all times. But yes, be grateful for these gentle nudges but be even more grateful for the sometimes violent surges as these are the times when He wants you to know He is always by your side, even carrying you when you cannot walk anymore.

Great sharing @jumpmaster. Thanks for this.

Absolutely, and like you said, the violent surges are also significant, for they may in fact even test us at times, but that is when we find our strength in our faith in God. Well said Gems.
