Paradise in Beau Vallon

Check out that epic palm tree! This is the magnificent bay of Beau Vallon on the island of Mahe, the largest island of the Seychelles.

This shot has a fateful story about it, as I only walked to this view because I missed the first bus to head back to my guesthouse, so I had to walk further up the street to catch a bus on a different route. When I came around a bend, I saw this palm curving up to the sky and the view in the backdrop...and just stood there for a few moments thinking...so this is what paradise looks like. The lush greenery and the iconic emerald-blue water of Beau Vallon really only just put it all over the top. Might as well just pack up and move there already.

Turns out I was pretty lucky, as I got to enjoy the view another 20 minutes, as it was right next to the bus stop.

Beau Vallon is one the top beaches on Mahe, and it’s well worth visiting. I only got to spend an hour swimming there, since I was flying out the same day, but with the incredible views you’ve got on all sides, it’s definitely a must do if you can spend an afternoon there.

I’m stoked I got to visit it all, since I barely squeezed it in- especially with missing the first bus back- before heading to the airport and catching my flight to Cape Town. But it’s doable! So even if you only have a few hours on Mahe, make sure to check it out.
