You've seen the adverts and the chances are that you have bought some of them if you are reading this. After spending over 10 years chasing the laptop lifestyle I believe I have the answer.

It's not the training being poor (although sometimes it is)
It's not the software being out of date (again sometimes it is)

Let me explain a bit more and to use myself as an example.

I got into Internet Marketing as I wanted to make life more comfortable. The sales letters and presentations made it sound sooooo easy to do so I started buying some.

Consider the Gartner Hype Cycle (source: https://www.gartner.com/technology/research/methodologies/hype-cycle.jsp) . It is specifically designed to represent the maturity, adoption and social application of specific technologies. However it also fits the Shiny Object Syndrome Cycle.

Let's consider the "Technology Trigger" and replace that with the sales letter, video or email.

The high point the "Peak of Inflated Expectations" is where I have clicked the buy button and have paid for the product and am excited. The letter is more than just the training. It's a key to my whole future happiness (subconciously more than concious) so I start reading it. (or in some cases never even read it.....oops)

Then I start working on the product and things are a little bit more difficult than I thought. Although I don't give up easily on things, life gets in the way, some technology sets me back or maybe I don't feel the method will work in the end.

Evenutually I end up in the "Trough of Disillusionment" and here is the kicker. While hanging around in the trough I get another sales email and then the whole sorry cycle starts again.

Now there are hundreds, thousands and maybe tens of thousands of people who are in this loop. Buying courses left right and centre and feel like they are getting nowhere.

Why is the problem you?

It's not so much of a problem really, but the key to turning this around exists within you. There are a load of internal automatic processes that you may or may not realise are going on.
From your level of self esteem to what you believe is a success. For example for years I felt that unless a project was earning me at least $100 a day then it wasn't a success but now I look at things in terms of profit vs time. If something earns very little each month but at zero time investment then that is amazing.

It took me many years to take responsibility for my own success in Internet Marketing and my life. If there is one thing you can do today is to look at one reason you tell yourself why you CANT do something and then think about what actions you would take if you believed you actually could.
