gambar ini ialah penampakan samping masjid kebanggaan masyarakat Kota lhokseumawe dimana masjid ini dibangun dengan tujuan dan latar belakang, sesuai informasi yang saya dapat dari beberapa sumber dimana tujuan pembangunan masjid ini sebagai pusat Pengkajian dan Pengembangan Islam atau yang lebih di kenal dengan sebutan Islamic Center (al-Markazul Islami) yang berdiri tepat di pusat Kota Lhokseumawe, merupakan sebuah Ikon baru wilayah Samudra Pase sebagai pusat Konsentrasi Baru Untuk mewujudkan kembali kejayaan dan Peradaban Islam Yang terbenam di wilayah Negara Islam Pertama di Asia Tenggara.

Sejarah kebesaran Kesultanan Samudera Pasai sampai ke kesultanan Aceh Darussalam hingga niat untuk mengembalikan fungsi masjid sebagai pusat peradaban Islam menjadi latar belakang utama dibangunnya Islamic Center Lhokseumawe ini. menilik sejarah Rosulullah S.A.W ketika beliau hijrah ke Madinah pun, hal pertama yang beliau bangunan adalah Masjid. Semua itu memberikan pelajaran kepada kita betapa pentingnya peran masjid bagi kehidupan muslim.
