Keuranji - Spongy fruit from Aceh
Since I was a kid, I had seen this fruit nowhere in my life but only on Banda Aceh-Lhoknga road. This fruit called Keuranji. My dad would always buy us this fruit whenever passing this road. Something that I just realized, I actually never know the tree of this fruit.
I don't know what to call this fruit in Indonesian language. This fruit is smaller than grape but has hard peel. The texture is spongy and the peel is close to tamarind shell but it is thinner and more fragile.
Keuranji has sweet and sour taste.
This time isn't the season top time. When the season comes, this road can be full of the Keuranji sellers with those tiny blacky seeds hanging along the road. I will not be full or equal with snack by consuming this fruit. We eat this to enjoy the time or just to make our mouth busy chewing it. :D

Bentuknya kecil dan kulitnya hitam, buah keranji ini rasanya seperti asam jawa, tapi lebih manis. Saya sering mendapatkan buah ini di indrapuri saat perjalanan ke banda aceh.
