How do you attain a good work-life balance?
Maintaining a work life balance is both doable and possible. Although, it may seem like a difficult task, having to juggle between working 9-5 and having time for the family and yourself. But balancing both work and personal life is the key to living a happy life. You don't want one encroaching on the time for another, so balancing both is very key. Practicing these few steps will help you balance both:
- Know what really matters: We live in a world of noise. Where different things are constantly staring at us in the eyes. It can be so tempting that we may end up chasing/doing things which do not really matter. It can be so daunting as well as frustrating when, at the end of the day, we realize that the most important tasks are left undone. So, understand what really matters and start with them.
- Prioritize: Just like knowing what's important, the next thing you need to do is prioritize. There are some important things that could be done later, while others need not be shifted and must be attended to immediately. Prioritize your activities. Do first things first and last things last.
- Give What Belongs To Work, Works, and To Play Play's: Just like the holy book teaches, we should also apply this principle in our everyday living to maintain a balanced work life lifestyle. When you're at work, be focused at it, and do not play or have fun when you should be working. Do the same for when you're at home, probably with family or having fun. Do not bring in work while you're trying to have your you-time.
