What was the last thing you said to someone before they died?
Recently, I lost a friend. He was really close to me and he had to travel out of town for a compulsory service to humanity as well as the government.
This was a really great friend who would come over to my place and we'd chat about so many things. We always made fun of each other and it was never an issue. We would insult and cuss at each other without picking offence.
When he had to travel to a faraway place, we weren't so much in contact and our talks reduced but I got to chat with him on social media one of those days. He became really busy and didn't have much time to be online and interact.
The day he did, we laughed and talked about things. I asked him to send me pictures of the new place and he refused. Then I teased him that it was because he was hungry and ill fed, hence looking so lean and unkempt and that was why he didn't want me to see him. He laughed but didn't consent or deny that fact and then I said, you better do and come back before hunger finish you there.
You see, he was in somewhat like a village and it was actually difficult to get good food. He laughed about it and said he had to go. He went offline and that was it. The next thing I heard days later was his death. I was so pained. Imagine my last statement to him. I feel so pained even while typing this. This happened few months ago and I hope he is happy wherever he is.
