Echoes of Time
Hello Steemit Family & Incredible India Community
Warm greetings to everyone reading this across the world, especially the incredible members of the Incredible India community!
I'm truly excited to be part of Week 2 of the Incredible India Poetry Contest organized by the amazing @mamun123456. Thank you so much for creating this beautiful space where we can express our thoughts and emotions through poetry. Your efforts are truly appreciated, and this contest is such a gift to writers like me who long to pour their hearts into words.
The theme “Memories and Time” really touched my soul, and I hope you feel my heart in the poem I wrote.
Echoes of Time
I see you still, in the corner of my mind,
Your laughter wrapped in the winds of time.
A younger me, barefoot and bold,
Chasing dreams the moonlight told.
The village air smelled like fried plantains,
And grandma's songs danced through the rains.
We carved our names on mango trees,
As if that moment would never leave.
Now the streets are quiet, the house grown cold,
But memories shine brighter than gold.
Though time has taken you far from me,
Your voice still whispers in every breeze.
Seasons change, but feelings stay.
Time can't wash the pain away.
Yet I'm grateful, in my soul so deep,
For the memories time let me keep.
Why I Wrote This Poem
This poem came straight from my heart. It was inspired by real-life memories — the laughter, the village life, my grandma’s voice in the rain, and those special moments I thought would last forever. Time may have moved on, but those moments remain, wrapped safely in my soul.
I wanted to honor how powerful memories are, and how even though time changes everything, it also helps us hold on to what matters most. Writing this brought tears to my eyes, but also peace. I hope whoever reads this will be reminded of a beautiful moment from their own life too.
Thank you for reading. Poetry like this connects us across places, emotions, and even time
