The power of sound vibration to shift consciousness through ancient and modern techniques

in #mindfullife5 years ago (edited)

In my previous post on the power of sound as a tool to awaken enlightened consciousness, I mentioned the historical roots of this ancient technique as described in the Vedic Sanskrit texts of India. The use of mantra to awaken consciousness and cultivate mindfulness is well known and practiced today by many throughout the world. Mantra meditation is a tried and tested technique popularized by western singers who adopt the Vedic culture, like Krishna Das, whose music is available on Amazon. There are others who are even more authentic, but he has captured the western mindset, or should I say ear, with his skill and finesse with sound vibration, using ancient Sanskrit mantras sung to music in a technique called “bhajan” or “kirtan”.

It's all vibrating
Today in this post though, I want to go into more of the science of sound in raising consciousness. To begin with everything is vibrating. Everything that exists is in a state of vibration, and therefore could be considered to be humming. That vibration or sound frequency is measured by modern science in Hertz or Megahertz. Any scientist will confirm this. It may be interesting to note that science has also discovered that the entire earth planet is vibrating. The specific name for the frequency of the earth is the Schumann Resonance, name after a scientist of that name who researched the phenomena.

The Shumann Resonance
Now the actual frequency of the earth is 7.83Hz (Hertz) and if you want you can actually hear it. A frequency measured in hertz is audible, it is a sound. Vibration emits a sound. All sound is vibration and vice versa. You get the picture. And similarly all of us on the earth are entrained to earth’s frequency. We all vibrate in synch with the earth because we are of the earth. it’s a simple matter of physics. According to some reports this Shumann Resonance frequency of 7.83Hz is currently shifting or changing over time as the earth moves through a different part of the cosmos in its travels across the universe.

These are galactic shifts that are beyond our perception but instruments can pick up the vibrations and tell the difference. And some suggest that as the frequency shifts, similarly we as inhabitants of the earth experience subtle shifts in consciousness too. That’s because frequency affects consciousness. It has a mood about it, just like music or sound can generate a mood. So during the thousands of years in which humanity has lived on the earth, we have been subject to varying cosmic influences (galactic rays) and they have and do affect our collective consciousness as a species and as a civilization over the millennia.

It's in the air
This is an example of how vibration or frequency is affecting us on subtle scientifically measurable levels, just like certain barometric weather patterns can also sometimes make people feel uneasy, of electromagnetic static in the atmosphere before a lightning storm can make one feel irritable. It’s the frequencies around us, the vibration and pressure of the atmosphere. Life is a science and nothing happens out of context. Even our feelings of joy or distress can be affected by external circumstances without any knowledge thereof on our part.

The secret of 432Hz
Similarly sound vibration, as related to frequencies of Hertz, can affect our consciousness, dragging it down or uplifting it in exaltation. This is why yogis have for millennia taught specific techniques of using sound vibration to awaken transcendent consciousness. It is also known that 432Hz is the particular frequency of sound that will feel most appropriate for us, or will induce the best state of mind in the hearer. There is a rumor that for unscrupulous purposes, our general musical instrumentation and scale was shift away from 432Hz to 440Hz so that we would not benefit from the value of the proper vibration. If you want to you can re-tune your instruments to the real harmonious frequency once again and it will generate a more harmonious mood in the mind of the hearer.
The shape of sound

The shape of sound
And frequency equates not only to state of consciousness in the hearer but also shapes and patterns in matter. Scientists have intoned specific frequencies to a plate of sand and it has shifted the sand grains into symmetric mandala-shaped patterns, known in the ancient Vedic culture as “yantras”. A yantra is the visual graphic representation of a mantra. And this was describes thousands of years ago, way before modern science worked out the tools and methods to analyse this. It makes you wonder what kind of advanced civilizations could have actually existed in the dawn of pre-history that we may simply forgotten or lost over time. The pyramids are a similar mystery from a previous advanced civilization that dwarves ours today. It makes you wonder what else we may have lost along the way, in between ice ages or with the shift of the planet into different galactic winds. Stay tuned for the next blog post where I get into the brain and what’s literally going on there when we vibrate sound to activate full consciousness. It only gets more fascinating as this all unfolds...

music is healing and soothes the soul. I sometimes listen to the frequency they say is healing. I like crystal bowls too.

Sounds divine. There are some good healing frequencies on Youtube for relaxation and awakening.

wow using music and song to heal is something I have been doing for a while, but reading the science behind it now is really fascinating, yes we all vibrate in synch with the earth or at least I think that is how it should be but some maybe have lost that? very very interesting x

Thank you, there is so much info and hidden science behind the things that drive our world ans the things we intuitively do already. Glad you liked the post. More to follow.

My favourite Krishna Das is his Hanuman Chalisa... it just explodes my heart everytime!!!

Totally agreed, Bhajan and holy music actually help awaken the inner cords

Music vibration always plays an important role in making the mind relax. So many music's and sounds were made to keep you happy

Vibration filled with love. That's what music is to me!

i had to go by now, but i will be following you to read this this night, bless u.

yeah, music on 432 it's scientificly correct, i do the math and then i get realized of the true power of music being focused conciously to heal.
