Taylor Swift is giving her fans even more material to parse through. A little over a month after the release of her 10th studio album, "Midnights," Searchlight Pictures announced the singer-songwriter will be directing her first feature-length film for the production company. Swift also wrote the original script.

"Taylor is a once in a generation artist and storyteller," Searchlight Pictures Presidents David Greenbaum and Matthew Greenfield said in a joint statement shared with Variety on Dec. 9. "It is a genuine joy and privilege to collaborate with her as she embarks on this exciting and new creative journey."

Though this will be her first feature, this won't mark Swift's first time behind the camera: she previously directed "All Too Well: The Short Film," which accompanied her rerecorded album "Red (Taylor's Version)" in 2021. The 14-minute film starred Sadie Sink and Dylan O'Brien and went on to win various MTV Video Music Awards and American Music Awards. It's also up for best music video at the upcoming Grammys.
