This is the world's first space-hotel
You can already book a room, but it costs a lot.
Space-tourism has not just taken yet, but more and more players are throwing their carousel to position themselves in the future - and especially exclusive - market. Now a company called Orion Span has announced something we do not hear too often, a room hotel.
The hotel has been named Aurora Station and aims to be the first luxury hotel in the world space - if realized, please note. The plan is to send the hotel up in 2021, and by 2022 the first guests are expected to be able to board.
Covers 75 million kroner
Aurora Station will be made to accommodate six people at a time, including a crew of two, and the duration of the stay will be 12 days. Not surprisingly, it will not be a cheap affair. The price tag per person will be $ 9.5 million, about $ 75 million.
Thus the customer group will be quite narrow, at least in the first place. Already now you can reserve space and the deposit is "only" 80,000 dollars, 630,000 kroner. However, the company promises a heated and unforgettable experience.
- Guests at Aurora Station will be 200 miles above the ground (approximately 320 kilometers, red.anm.) In low lane, where guests will have a great view of the ground. The hotel will circulate around the world once every 90 minutes, which means that they will see 16 sunrises and downs every 24 hours, it is stated in the press release.
The team at Orion Span consists of a number of people with long experience and speed in space technology, including from NASA projects and the ISS space station, as well as from various other industries. The idea is that the hotel will be a modular project that can evolve over time and adapt to changes in demand and needs.
The company is still a little sparing about the schedule and the details of how to get the project on track, so it's obvious to see if they reach their ambitious goals.
amazing but gonna cost a lot
