I remember when I walked down the street in Japan, I captured this picture of a Buddha. I was hooked with wonder, and wanted to know more about the history of this belief.

Since I am a Christian, I dont know much about it so I do some research.

"Buddhism is a religion and dharma that encompases a variety of tradition, beliefs and spiritual practices."

According to my readings, it is originated from the ancient India and now the world's fourth largest religion.

It was brought to Japan from China and Korea in the form of present from the friendly Korean kingdom of Kudara in 6th century.

At present about 90 million people consider themselves as Buddhist in Japan. But it was said that religion does not directly affects the life of the average Japanese that strong.

Funerals are usually carried out in Buddhist way and many household keep a small altar to pay respect to thier ancestors.

Now I realized, when I pay a visit to the place of a Japanese friend before, I haven't found any without an altar of Buddha.
It is their way of paying respect to their lost love one. A placed where the ashes can be found too.

So, that's it!
Just shared my readings to you...
