Hello friend of the steem ecosystem,
It is a pleasure to be before this great community to make another interesting article on the need to involve in regular power up.

Many individuals feel that we are being encouraged to engage in power ups because they want to punish us or probably they don't want us to enjoy from our hardwork.

Far from it! We are being asked to engage in power ups because there are significant effects that power up has on steem economy.

Many individuals fail to recognize this fact and as such, they refuse to support the steemit team by their regular power ups.
Many have refused to join club5050 and some still still power down their earnings and hope to easily return to the platform again after squandering their earnings.

Truth be told, when we engage in power ups, we are doing no other person good but ourselves.
Engaging in power ups doesn't mean we are giving our steems out, it still belongs to us and we can claim it whenever we wish to.

There are numerous ways regular power ups contribute to steem economy and there are numerous ways it helps us as users, stay tuned.

• BOOST STEEM PRICE:

Some may not be aware of the fact that regular power ups helps to boost steem price in the market.

They might reason, "how does my little power up help steem price"- yes, an individual power up might be little but imagine when power up is a collective effort, definitely it will be great.

Our regular power ups helps to boost steem price by causing inflation in the steem market.

Inflation is usually said to occur when a large amount of money is used to purchase fewer goods and this is usually caused when there's a disrupt in the regular supply of goods.
In other words, we can say that inflation occurs when there's scarcity of a particular commodity.

When we power up, we help to lock a considerable amount of steems from circulation, thus increasing the inflation rate of steem.
And when this happens, a large amount of money will be used to purchase fewer steems.

The whales in the crypto ecosystem are usually attracted to crypto project with wonderful fundamentals, and a serious team.

When an investor hears of steemit, the first crypto-related social media platform, they will be moved to make their findings about it, and when they do and notice that we are all in cooperation with the steemit team, that we are all making series of power ups, they will be forced to see the fact that steemit has a great team and with this impression, they will have the interest to invest in steem coin.

Although this is not the sole purpose of engaging in power ups but it serves as an added advantage to us.

When we power up, it boost steem price and creates audience for steem, because everyone will be wondering what project is behind steem coin and this will lead them to steemit.
It is an indirect method of promoting steems.

• IT HELPS MAKE STEEM GENERALLY ACCEPTABLE:

Not quite long, we noticed that binance exchange enabled a direct transaction between steem and usdt, that is they created a new pair which is steem/usdt.

The creation of this pair will help ease the way individuals buy steems, one don't have to swap from usdt to btc before purchasing steem.

A user can easily purchase steem with the use of usdt, and this is a nice improvement, as it helps increase the fame of steem coin.

• BUILD A STRONG ACCOUNT:

This is another very important reason to engage in power ups, it helps to build a strong steemit account.

I can remember when I just joined steemit, April 2021 which is last year, when I created my account I met 14sp In my wallet, but it was a delegated sp and now I can boast of 3000sp.

I only achieved 3000sp by making series of power up and I believe that in a matter of time, I will become a dolphin.

• BUILD A STRONG COMMUNITY:

The growth of a community account is another very important reason why we should power up.

When a community account is strong, it can easily support it's members and help them grow on this wonderful platform.

It also helps to ease the stress of curators, as it is impossible for the curators to curate every article on steemit.
The community account will help serve as backup.

• EARN PASSIVELY FROM DELEGATION/CURATION REWARD:

Another advantage of building a high steem power is that not only will you get support from curators, you will also earn delegation and curation rewards.

You earn delegation rewards when you delegate your steem power to a community account, and this can be done on steemworld.

When you delegate your steem power, you earn weekly rewards and the higher the delegation the higher the rewards.

You also earn passively when you vote on other individual's post.
As the author earns, the curator also earns, and the higher your steem power, the higher your curator reward.

• HABIT OF SAVING:

This is one reason why I love making regular power ups.
Making power ups helps to inculcate the habit of saving in steemians.

Many steemians didn't have that habit of savings but with the help of the #club initiative, they have been able to discipline themselves and minimize their spending.

HOW CAN YOU DO YOUR PART

To do our part to contribute to the growth of steemit is indeed a selfless attitude, and I commend all that have been doing their part.

• You can do your part by regularly powering up your steems.
  We all know how to power up our liquid steems as it was learnt in our achievement tasks.
  And for those that are new, tag along I will demonstrate how to do so.

• You can also do your part by setting your post to be on 100% power up.
  Although this is not a popular method of contributing to steem growth but it is an effective method too.

HOW I DO MY PART

• To do my part, I first of all visited my steem wallet and took a screenshot of my steem power just as shown below

Then u proceeded to click on the drop down of my liquid steems, and as at when this post was made, I had a total of 86.535 liquid steems,of which u click on power up.

After clicking on power up, the below appeared of which I proceeded to include the amount of steem to be powered up

As seen above, I decided to power up all my liquid steems, of which I clicked on power up and the below appeared.

Then I clicked on ok and proceeded to input the needed keys just as shown below

After all these processes was complete, I visited my steem power to confirm and I saw that as expected, my steem power increased by 86.535

• As I said earlier, another way to support steem growth is by setting your post to be on a 100% power up, watch how I did it.

To do this, I clicked on advance settings just as labelled above and the below appeared.

Then I proceeded to the author reward section of which I clicked on the drop down as shown above, then the below appeared, of which I changed from 50% sp and 50%sbd to 100% power up

I then clicked on the save icon to implement the new change I made.

CONCLUSION

We all have a role to play when it comes to growing steem, either in our vicinity or in the crypto ecosystem.
