Gardens and Urban Legends

According to an urban legend, in that ancient city of Magerit - the Madritum of the Romans - King Alfonso VI conquered the Arabs while the image of a Black Madonna was hidden in the walls of San Vicente. to be the Patroness of Madrid, under the name of Almudena, there is a hidden garden of the frightful noise of a city whose growth resembles the tentacles extended towards the four cardinal points of a gigantic octopus, and inside, there is an enchanted fountain, in which three frogs conceal, in their little stone bodies, the spirits of three beautiful priestesses, who like their companions of Delphi, offered oracles under the mimosa and attentive gaze of the Moon.

It is said, also, that in the solitudes of autumn, when the leaves fall and give the roads a soft carpet and the colors are lit like the last death rattles of the sun at sunset, the spirits of the priestesses sing through the mouth of stone of the frogs, its song being so spectacular and wonderful, that everyone who hears it, swears that it has never heard more crystalline and beautiful song.

I do not know if the latter will be true, but I do know that the garden, the fountain and the frogs exist and I do not lose hope of being able to listen to their prodigious song, one autumn afternoon, when the leaf of the trees that surround it is seen with the colors of the sun in the twilight and the melancholy make me think, that even in the path of a lone wolf, there is always a time and a place to enjoy beauty, even for a fleeting moment.

Because beauty, in its essence, is also fleeting as a result of an ancient, ancient enchantment.
That is why the time it takes for a star to lose sight behind that horizon lasts, no matter how much you walk, no matter how much you get up and how much you run, you will never reach it.
