Achievement 2 @jsmntamban Task : Basic Security on Steem

In this post I will show how I understand the basic security on steemit. Thank you to the achievement 2 guide of @cryptokannon I am able to clearly understand it. Also thanks for @inspiracion for verifying my achievement 1. So here it is...

Question 1: Have you retrieve all your keys on steemit?

• Yes, I already retrieved all of my keys on steemit, just after signing up here on steemit I downloaded it.

Question 2: Do you know each of these key functions and restrictions?

Yes.

• Posting Key
  This is the key the you use for functions like posting, voting, commenting, muting an account, following other users, editing your post and comments. In short this key is what you use for social networking actions and it has limited set of permission. You cannot use this key for monetary action so if someone gets this key you will not lose money.

• Active Key:
  This key is the one that you should keep safely because this key has permission for more sensitive monetary-related action like exchanging tokens. When you perform a wallet related action, you may be prompted to authenticate your active key. You can use this key to power up or down your STEEM, conversion of SBD, change your profile, vote for witnesses and transfer tokens.

• Owner Key
  This key is the most important key because this key will approve any permission to reset owner,active and posting keys of your account. This key is the one that you will also use to recover your account and decline voting rights. It would be best that you will securely store this key offline.

• Memo Key
  This key can be used to send and view an encrypted message. As of now this key is not that commonly used because this key's only feature is to encrypt and decrypt private messages that are sent through the blockchain. Overtime this key might be a powerful feature.

Question 3: How do you plan to keep your master password?

• I store it to my personal computer and to my flashdrive. I only stored in offline because it is what I think the most safest way to keep my master password.

Question 4: Do you know how to transfer your steem token to another steem user account?

Yes.

1. On the upper right side of your steemit feed you will see your avatar icon, click that and a menu will appear.
   
2. Click on wallet.
3. In line of STEEM you will notice a down-ward arrow click/select that.
   
4. Choose Transfer
   
5. A window will appear that show to whom you want to transfer your token, the amount and memo, just fill that up.
   
6. Next and Confirm.

Question 5: Do you know how to power up your STEEM?

Look on the step 1-3 of the answer in question 4 then proceed to this next step:

1. Choose power up
   
2. Fill up the amount of your choice, depends on your steem balance.
3. Click Power Up
   
4. After that you will see that your steem power has increased.
