DailyCelestialChallenge Wednesday: Structures
Far from speculations and ridiculous theories, such as the belief that beings from other planets helped to realize such architectural work to perfection, scientists from the University of Amsterdam have recently discovered how the Egyptians managed to move this large amount of stones to build the pyramids without too many problems.
As an example, the Great Pyramid of Cheops has blocks that vary their weight between two and sixty tons. Only for this work, more than two million blocks were needed. And just to transport them to the construction site a slab was used to which a rope was tied as a "sled", dragging it through areas where the sand had previously been moistened to allow a better slip.
pyramids used to be placed on the western side of the Nile, because the soul of the pharaoh had to meet with the solar disk before its descent. The core of the structure is a limestone, while the outer part has this stone of a superior quality, so that it has a white shine. The final touch is granite or basalt with gold or silver.
