Level Up Your Blog ~ Live On MSP Radio Tonight!
Hey everyone! The day of the show change to Tuesdays at 00:00 UTC and tonight is the first show! I will upload the first hour of the show to @dsound on Thursday, so if you miss the content, you can still hear it as a podcast. The show is made possible by the @minnowsupport project with the backing of my group the @creatorsguild.
Today we will talk about niches and why they are essential if our aim is blog growth. We'll also talk about how to find the best one for you so that you never get sick of writing content. I never cared about having a niche because I felt it would only restrict what I could talk about but after finding the best one for me and seeing the growth that comes from having a niche, I will never go back.
We will also get into the idea of multiple niches and how to do it will on Steemit. The key here is setting a schedule and sticking to it. We do not want to drive away followers and readers due to our inconsistency. We will talk about my approach to scheduling, how to set it up, and how to change the plan if needed.
During this first hour, all listeners may ask questions in the chat around the topic at hand, and I'll do my best to answer them all. Remember that the first hour is recorded for the podcast version so I will have to keep the questions I answer on the topic.
After we hit the second hour of the mark, the listeners can join the live voice chat with me for a one on one blog review. I'll focus on the topic we discussed in hour one but may also branch out in the case of a glaring issue that the listener can fix.
Why Do A Radio Show?
I have a podcast called "Linux, Tech, and Hacker Culture" on several traditional platforms such as Google Play, iTunes, and Pocketcasts. It's a fun endeavor for me to see the numbers to roll in overtime on subjects I never thought would get the traction. My best month so far was this past November with just under 25 thousand listens. In each of the episodes, I get to promote Steemit to all of them!
Then I began to look for a way to use other Steem based sites like @dsound and @dtube. I am not one for video editing due to how much time it often takes me to make a video. So that leads me to @dsound, and since I already have the experience podcasting, it felt like a great fit. However, I did not want to merely reupload my technology podcast but instead create something new.
That is when the Level Up Your Blog podcast came to mind. I already write about these topics on Steemit so why not branch out into audio. That way anyone not able to sit down and read can listen to the podcast. I also can get much deeper into the topic over an hour than I could in a single blog post. So even all of you who read my posts will have something to gain from listening.
When MSP mentioned they wanted to add more shows to their radio program, it looked like a great fit to record my podcast and have a live show for MSP. Having live interaction in the chat will help me clarify anything confusing for the podcast. But I thought two hours of blog tips was a bit much for a podcast and added the one on one live coaching as a thank you to all the live listeners.
It's an honor to have a show on MSP Waves. Joining group is the single best choice I made since starting my Steemit journey. To be able to take what I do in the Creators' Guild and give back to MSP in audio form is very exciting. It's because of MSP that I am where I am today on Steemit, and I can not thank the group enough.
I am looking forward to the show and hope to see many of my Steemian friends as well as new faces. If you want to grow your blog, I must help you. After fifteen years of blogging I made all the mistakes and giving back to the @minnowsupport projects' community in this way should help everyone skip as many of the errors as possible.
As a Steem Witness, this is another way to do my part in making the Steem platform a better place for bloggers and investors. The better the overall content, the better the ecosystem looks to those on the outside. If my show helps even just one person make their next blog the best they ever made than the effort is worth my time.

@jrswab, yea you are on point, I discussed this same topic on my discord radio show last two weekend.
niche is one of the major deterninant of our success in steemit, but many minnows are not getting it right.
To make it easy for you as a blogger, you must have a niche that is in line with your personality, besides, our niche should conform with our life purpose.
SEE YOU ON THE SHOW
