Bittrex says they will disable STEEM wallets prior to the HF
Bittrex just put out a statement saying they are going to disable STEEM deposits and withdrawals and monitor the situation surrounding the upcoming HF...

It isn't entirely clear what it will take for them to open the STEEM wallets back up.

Most legit exchanges will unlist Steem and SBD if the hard fork goes through. Contentious hard forks are most likely against listing requirements as no action performed by coin developers can cause liability to the exchange.

This is really complicated and the risk of the total loss of my investment has me a bit worried. But hopefully a compromise can be reached.
I thought my Steem/crypto was at risk outside DPOS, but these last 27 months have been an education.
We can expect panic selling when most of the people try to sell their Steem and SBD still on the exchanges and withdraw it in other coins.
Some of the people who are going to lose their coins try to send them to exchanges before the hard fork height so they can also sell their coins.
What do we do now @jcornel?
No Need to panic lads, there are other exchanges. I won't be surprise if we are able to trade steem for other asset on steem like trx, btc, eth. with those you can always go to any exchange or Bittrex. I am sure they are just waiting for the noise to die down abit
We can expect Steem and SBD price go crazy on exchanges that disable wallets... People are going to buy and sell back and forth until they either decide to unlist or re-enable wallets.
