Flower Bloom in my Garden
Flower name-Gloriosa Superba
It is a vine which grows from a tuber and has very beautiful flowers. The blooms lasts for 2-3 days.
It blooms primarily in the Summer season. The vine goes dormant in the winter season and new shoot appears in the Summer season.
Growing conditions-
Pot- The pot should be preferably big in size. A pot size of 12-14 inches in diameter is good.
Soil-Should be well-draining to prevent rotting of tuber. Soil should consist of a mixture of sand, garden soil and compost.
Water-In Summer, water once per day and the next watering should be done whenever the top 1-2 inches layer of soil seem dry.
Sunlight- The plant blooms the maximum in the presence of direct sunlight. Keep the plant outside in full sun during Summer season.
Fertilizer-A mixture of bone-meal, potash, super phosphate, sea weed, etc. before the Blooming season starts should be applied per month as per the size of the plant for production of continuous flowers.
Support-The plant should be provided with a good support which helps the plant to catch hold of it and to grow upward. A 1-stick long support will be sufficient for it.
Use of fungicide and neem spray per month as per the size of the plant is desirable to keep the plant healthy and to prevent from fungal attack and insect attack respectively.
