Daily Food Photography | Quick-and-Easy Ginisang Tahong
Mussel, or tahong, is a name commonly used for members of the mollusc family found in either saltwater or freshwater habitats. For foodies like me, we would all agree that tahong is a very familiar ingredient for popular seafood dishes, such as paella, pasta or soup.
Because of its affordability, accessibility and simplicity, mussel dishes are a perfect go-to seafood for delicious meals in a hurry. This tender, shelled meat is a real treat when steamed, stewed, grilled or even skewered.
This sautéed mussels or ginisang tahong was done in just minutes. All I did was sauté them in garlic, onion and ginger with a splash of soy sauce, a hint of oyster sauce for flavor, and a touch of heat from the siling pahaba. And voila! A real treat, indeed.
