Today I participate in WoX photo contest with the week topic: 'Paper'.
More details on the contest here:

I am rather obsessed with a paper so I really wanted to come up with something less usual and prepared more curious selection this time.

Vintage papers. Paper is indispensable for transmitting information to the future! Of course, information can be preserved by scratching pictographs into granite, or pressing cuneiform onto soft clay tablets... but this is a long way, and most importantly, it is not very convenient to store the resulting library!

Old papers...usually go up in price, and rarely get cheaper. Don't throw away your old newspapers, magazines, tickets, documents, photographs, and so on. If you don't need them, maybe your grandchildren will! This suitcase full of vintage postcards I found at a flea market.

Origami master-class! Impossible to run without paper.

I wanted to show you the very special paper produced by wasps (of course, they made it for their nest, and not for me to privatize it and photograph it - but after the winter season, the wasps build themselves a new house, and no one needs the old one - of course, if it was in a secluded protected place and survived the winter weather.

I found these nests in the attic of my summer house, tomorrow I will try to find a photo in my archive, I know I have it... somewhere.

Russian Notes in denominations of 100 and 25 rubles (1807). Photos were taken at the Money Museum in St. Petersburg.

Money! Paper, of course, has become a convenient medium for printing money (especially under developed capitalism). But there was a time when cowrie shells, for example, served as money! The photo above shows the first Russian experience in printing banknotes. Printed in the era of Emperor Alexander 1 - this is the kind of money that the French Emperor Napoleon counterfeited when he came to defeat Russia in 1812; he was a brilliant man, and waged the war not only by military means, but also by economic means - he printed counterfeit money, with one hand helping himself to finance the war, and with the other, undermining the enemy’s economy.

What an interesting post on papers! So much creativity. The one with 'wasp paper' was the most unique. Such an out-of-the-box idea. Superb!

I like to collect 'a bouquet' on a certain given prompt, or show something unusual, not 'from the box'. Love such photo-games. Thanks for your compliment.
NB. have you noticed the #Photochain game run by @davidesimoncini? It is fun I alert all my friends to join too.
