Greetings, Steemians! With this post I participate in 'Architectural Photography' contest by @xaviduran:

Notice to the public. I dont work as professional photographer, thats why I do not capture all the architectural decor elements systematically: I rarely make a few interior photos, most usually limiting myself to a couple of exterior photos for buildings that attracted me, or their small architectural details, or other curious vintage fragments. And I cannot but mention that a good part of buildings here are not public, a person can’t simply enter from the street to any place you like and take pictures of everything whats inside. (There exist a number of unique residential buildings at St.Petersburg created in 'ar nuovo' style that I crave to look at, not speaking about taking pics... but it is nearly impossible).

So it was not an easy task to choose stuff for this contest, especially having in mind the interior part. I almost was ready to gave up, but in the last minute I remembered about an ExpoForum exhibitional center that I visited two years ago. It is a decent and convincing example of architecture, worth to present. And I do have a few pics taken inside. My goal was the car exhibition running at the center, so I borrowed a bag of lenses. Happily, I borrowed a manual fisheye lens with me, otherwise I doubt I could make captures conveying all the scale and size of the Forum.

Below is the parking lot in front of the Forum's entrance.

The Center is huge and the main hall is impossible to fit in one frame (obviously...) so I tried different angles, to nail the essence and to get less dull visuals.

The corner and side facade of the building decorated with a printed plot - they form a huge bright spot and contrast, clearly visible from afar, from the road. In my opinion, thats a good solution to attract extra attention. (Do there exist such a case, when 'Less advertising is better than more of it' ?!!)

Entrance and Covid check-point. Inside the center, I swapped between telephoto, 16mm fisheye and 16-35mm lens (depending on the plot).

One of the exponents was very special 'vip' -- the Garage of the federal security service (aka "president's garage"). At this stand, one could look at the layout of the garage building (a large complex of buildings), educate about its history, etc. I spent 15 minutes looking at the exhibits and choosing interesting viewing angles to get beautiful visuals. Fan! One of the most memorable and liked me expositions at the exhibition.

By the way, said layout of the President's Garage was installed on the original chassis: an armored limousine from the garage... quite eye-catching, I should note, I've never seen anything like that before.

Now, let me round now up my story here, as I think I'm already moving the story from architecture to cars :)

Hi, you were definitely too late, but the exhibition seems to be well visited despite of COVID precautions. I can imagine how that little boy was excited to be photographed in front of hte car, very cool :)

Took me too long to find something for this prompt, I knew. Well, maybe next time. 8-)
