Metropolis at Night
My entry for Street Photography photography challenge, week #60.
Finally, today you see some low-key photography from me.
I slipped outdoors when the magic hour might have been evaporated long ago; actually, the weather is not sunny, so I would not be getting shots like this anyway. It is this week WoX photo challenge prompt - 'Night Photo' - guided me, so I acted accordingly.
I love the magical masquerade that night brings every evening to the metropolis. I used to it, thats true, but still like it - all this play of neon light and shadows, of lonely shiny wet streets, rubbish that have been accumulated thru the day, some late pedestrians that are rushing to get back home, dog owners who bravely leave their cozy, warm apartments and go out into the cold, damp night every evening, driven by a sense of duty; trams, trolleybuses, cars; enticing advertising signs promising delicious coffee and pastries, and other displays - extraordinary products of designer self-expression, and many other things that I forgot to mention.
Night makes the banal extraordinary, gives simple things a cool background - and therefore a great time to practice street photography... even though night means bad lighting, and all real photographers of course prefer good lighting, lol.
At least low-key photography can give you here an excuse .
Scooters used during the daytime, all dropped near the Tube station entrance.
Such an ordinary thing as Glasses shop - combined with the night, the pool after rain, and random strangers - can bring on the table a solid diversity.
Dress is awaiting the customers - in the shadows it is triple appealing , isnt it?
Late veggies customer.
Mother and her daughter drag the heavy bag filled with food. See below in the cropped fragment how promising and appetisingly weighty the content is!
Coloured fountains - they are like that, its not me painting them in photoshop! and they are programmed to change their colour 4 times per minute. I believe, this was it is adjusted to the whole symphony of the night city.
Now that is all. Oh, and I would love to hear how did you like the night colors, and the selection?
Thanks to all curators for your support, see you next time!
Great shots! Where is this?
