#Update 64: Writing Expedition- Write On Thursday..(@joymm)

Hi friends.. How are you doing? Am sure you're alright.. Am okay too.. Its another week of writing, and I want to congratulate last week winners, you guys wrote well. Today, I will be sharing a very interesting story with you. Just read on;

CUT YOUR COAT ACCORDING TO YOUR SIZE

Blessing was the only seed of her poor parents. Her parents was so poor that they hardly provided food and clothes for Blessing. The poor family was later helped by a family friend who volunteered to sponsor and take care of Blessing's educational needs and welfare. Blessing was registered into a nearby school. Her father's friend Mr. Kelvin was the one who sponsored Blessing throughout her nursery and though secondary school.

Unfortunately, Blessing while in secondary school, joined a group of friends who came from rich families. In fact, she was in the circles of rich corrupt bad friends. She was always in the company of these spoilt children from rich homes,while forgetting her poor family background. Within a short a while, Blessing came to the realization that her parents could not provide for her the kind of things her rich friends had. In the quest to live up to the standard of her rich friends, she started to steal from her teachers hand bag and later graduated into a professional thief who can pilfer light out of day light.

After a short while, Blessing began wearing and patronizing the latest fashion designers. Most times, this entered her head and she started disrespecting her elders and teachers in school. Soon enough, Blessing's parents began to notice how disrespectful and snobbish their daughter has become. Her mum knew something was wrong. One day, her mother searched her room and found out expensive clothes and jewelries. Blessing's parents questioned her to find out where she had got all the things found in her room, she angry with her mum and left the house for her friend's place.

One fateful day, Blessing was in need of an expensive dress she will wear to a party which has been agreed to attend with her friends. She had no money to buy the expensive and colorful dress, so she decided to steal it. She saw a beautiful dress hunged at the botique at webber street. She stealthily walked to where the dress was hung, pick it up and put in her bag hurriedly. After doing these, she thought nobody had seen her and made for the exit door. At the door, she met a security man was always there to check people leaving the shop. He had seen Blessing putting the dress inside her bag, but he wasn't sure if she paid for the dress.

As Blessing was about to go out of the shop, the security man accosted her and demanded to search her bag. Blessing was discovered and she was beaten mercilessly and the stolen dress was collected from her. She was taken to the juvenile home where teenage offenders were kept. Blessing's friends were nowhere to be seen. They disappeared within a twinkle of an eye. Her parents had to visit her at the juvenile home after the news of her detention. Blessing on seeing her poorly wretched mother, she bursted into tears and ever regretted why she took that action.

Moral Lesson;

• In life, be contented with what you have.
• Don't join bad companies, because evil communication corrupts good manners.
• Be determined and focus on your goals and dreams.
• Learn to cut your coat according to your size, Don't start what you can't finish.
• Be careful in the kind of friends you keep. As you can hear from the story, blessing's friends forsaked and flew from her.
