#ULOG Day 1 OFW Diaries Bonding time with my brother and some Travel photos and tips
This is one of our old photos when we attended the Amazing Race Philippines Reunion
I know this should be about me but I just spent 10 days with my Brother and it was such a great experience.
I will have to cut this to a few parts because we did too many things in that span of time.
Introduction:
I have not been in the Philippines for more than 3 years and because I miss my younger bro so much I told him if he fixes his passport in time we will do whatever he wants to do in Malaysia and Singapore. I have tried my best to save enough money for his visit. I want him to have the best experience in that 10 days
Activities in Malaysia
First stop is the place I chose from Airbnb. I have never used this platform but I was set to let my brother experience staying in a place "with a view." Regalia is known for the infinity pool and strategic location for a reasonable price.
Check out the photos below:
Infinity Pool
This is how it looks during the day. It shows the Kuala Lumpur Skyline for the price that did not break the bank. My experience in the rented Airbnb place was reasonable, I cannot swim but this pool is only chest deep and anyone who would like to experience it will have no issue of drowning as there is a security guarding the place all day (I think the guard is also serving as the lifeguard, and not just there to watch people who are wearing proper swimming attire)
Batu Caves
He chose this on the check list and even if I am sure I will not climb that stairs anymore I told him I will be waiting for him. I climbed this once before and I am set never to do it again. 272 steps is ok but twice of that is too much for my weak knees. He seem to enjoy it as he actually stayed up there longer.
Check out the photos below:
Google will point you to Batu Caves as a must visit place. I think he was truly satisfied by the experience and he enjoyed the meal after - Indian Meal and Malaysian Desserts: Masala Dosa and ABC with Ice cream
*Please note that the KTM train ride to Batu Caves has been discontinued (in case you have plans to check it out)
SkyDiving
For Rm89 (P1,175.60) you can fly 2x and for Rm159 (2,100.24) you can fly 4 times. This is available in 1 Utama mall and this is a bit pricey but considering the technology involved (according to the guy there they invested Rm20million for that) it is the closest we can get instead of the actual skydiving

Learnings on these 3 mentioned highlights
- If you can choose a room without sharing and choose based on the reviews in Airbnb, remember the pool photos will always be nice but always check the room photos and the other amenities and facilities
- Batu caves is a great place to visit but do not wear shorts if you plant o go there. It is a sacred place of worship and they will give you some cloth to cover up which you have to rent and pay for. If you are loved by mosquitoes use anti mosquito repellants or lotions to avoid getting bit. Do not dangle your water bottles as monkeys may take it away from you.
- Do not attempt AirRider or indoor skydiving if you had back, neck or shoulder injuries. The sudden jerking of movement cause by the air pressure can cause damage if you have unhealed injuries, do not risk it it is not worth the adrenaline rush to be paralyzed for life.
- Bring water to stay hydrated and make sure you check the weather forecast as it often rains in Malaysia late in the afternoon and this can affect your travel plans negatively if you have limited time.
- Do not force yourself to climb if you feel any pain or discomfort, you do not want to have any injuries that can affect your ability to walk later when you visit other places. Always consider taking Grab car if the distance is not too far. The fixed fare is reasonably better compared to the train, bus or taxi rides.
I hope you enjoyed my first ULOG :) Please leave any comments or suggestion if you think I need to improve on my post :)
Thanks again!
