Africa. Poor? By an African
We have come a long way to remain an underdeveloped continent.
A million times we have cried.
A million fathers have died.
All against the tide we ply.
Why is my Africa still a child.
A child struggling to match up with other continents.
While others shine in their pride,
We Africans only cry for better life.
Tarred roads are found only in a few developed areas.
Like a pig bewitched with ill-luck
Africans remains beautiful but yet anonymous to dirt and possible fraud.
I am not shy to be an African
But corrupt diplomats and desperate people have made it hard to claim to be one.
Talk about Nigeria and they'll quickly avoid you. To be African is a crime committed from birth.
When will Africa arise from slumber?
Maybe never.
We shall overcome someday.
That's if at least 3 out of every 10 of us actively get involved in telling the world that being African is being human.
