Josh Sigurdson does another Freedom Minute update, this time regarding the absurdity of banning straws as Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and British Prime Minister Theresa May ponder such a ban.
Alongside a straw ban would also be a ban on cotton swabs and drink stirrers. In fact, this may affect ALL commonwealth countries.
Government, the greatest polluter of all time wants to ban plastic straws, but meanwhile, government is the reason we see such a vast level of plastic pollution in the ocean in the first place. Government after all banned and regulated the hemp market, restricting the free market from making choices when it comes to greener alternatives all while monopolizing major petroleum companies like Standard Oil at the end of the 19th century.
Small business competition was pushed out of the market. If the markets were unrestricted we would have seen individual demand take hold and countless smaller companies would be competing for the best product at the best price. The market would vastly innovate and competition would fluorish. That which pollutes the most and poses the greatest risk to human health would be replaced by greater, more higher quality alternatives.
Plastic can easily be made out of hemp and corn stock cellulose. But instead of allowing the free market to prop up these great alternatives, the government has stood in the way of it, every step of the way while virtue signalling about the environment.

The straw ban is a terrible idea and will only further restrict free will and restrict the market.
