I tried taking photos of some fish at the Adelaide botanical gardens one day...that didn't work out very well.
I love those shaped doorways in the walls!
You really need a camera with a polarizing filter.

I love the Chinese garden in Portland. Sadly I haven’t been back to the city since 2014 and I live just up the road in Seattle!
I also really like the Japanese Garden in Portland. Last visit we went to both in the same day! 😄 The city has some fantastic public spaces.

Normally this garden is very crowded. These photos offer some rare unimpeded views of the best sights. On a still, sunny, winter day the colors of the Chinese buildings look wonderful in the pond reflections.
Do they keep koi in the pond for winter? I am always curious when the best month is to view the lotus blossoms and water lilies.
We lucked out for a Sunday. I think everyone is just programmed for bad weather.
Good questions. I imagine they must do something if there is an extended freeze. I will mostly likely return in spring to check it out.
