I think I saw Eeyore!
Nice pics as always.

Haha, thanks!

Wow so many wonderful shots of these elephants. I have never been up close to them in the wild. What an incredible experience this must have been! Resteemed and upvoted.

Thank you so much, I am thrilled you enjoyed them!

Awesome shots @joshman. I really want to go on a safari and watch some elephants in real-life. They are amazing creatures.
Great write-up also.

I highly recommend it if you get the opportunity!
Thanks for the glowing review!

What a cool life you lead pal. In Thailand the elephants are quite docile but I've heard African elephants can be quite dangerous and very territorial. What sort of safe distance did you need to keep and have you ever been 'charged'?

Thanks! I'm kind of ready to go back home at this point, hopefully in another month or so.
I've never seen an elephant act aggressive despite being a few meters from them. I have seen hippos and rhinos act aggressively, but more as a warning.

oh ok, i guess that is just hearsay about the elephant aggression. I hope that they are a bit less domesticatable though, because they exploit the hell out of the Asian elephant's good nature.

Going home is always good. I sometimes consider doing the same, but first I have to figure out what "home" means to me these days :)

I agree they are just a most majestic animal i have seen them out in the managed camps here in Thailand where they they care of them and let them run free a fun animal to be around you would love Thailand elephant camps 👍

Yup, I went to Patara in Chiang Mai a few years back and rode an elephant bareback several kilometers. It was amazing, and my groin muscles hurt for a week.

How awesome bareback damn and you were walking around like a cowboy...lol...well that's what you get for been brave 🤣

About 4 years back we took Elephants up the mountains and camped there with the Chiang Mai tribes had a great feed slept the night up on the mountains and came back down the next morning that was a experience love to do it again some day.

Fantastic shots of the Elephants I do think they are such amazing animals, but for me its Dolphins are my favorite and I have a few tattoos with Dolphins in them :)

Nice, dolphins are amazing animals too!

They truly are :) have a great week ahead

Great photographs. Why don't you submit them to nature magazines?

Thanks, I'd love to do this for my day job! :)
