Touring Jamaica - Snorkel
When we talk about Island we inevitably talk about water, and so often everything related to it, as far as entertainment is concerned.
Recently I made a publication in which I spoke about Surfing... for the lovers of the sea there is something that I doubt that you will not like, in this case I speak of the
Snorkel
Yes, that water activity in which you can enjoy the bottom of the sea, usually with the use of a water lens and a breathing tube while you swim on the surface and contemplate what is inside and/or underneath you. You could dive into the water and enjoy a closer look at the reef.
Here I can say, unlike surfing, that I have some experience. I was born and raised in a state of Venezuela that has a wide coast that is part of the Caribbean Sea, so swimming and that contact with the beach was something that was always in me.
However, now that has changed, I am currently in Bogotá, a cold city and the coast is more than half a day away. But in spite of that, Santa Marta and Cartagena, for example, are almost 20 hours away, but I know that I will visit them at some point.
But it is not specifically from my life that I make this post...
The purpose of this publication is to give an idea to whoever reads me of the places they could go if this is the activity they want to do. Generally in the beaches that lend themselves to snorkeling they have sites to rent the equipment (both diving and snorkeling), including advice or guide in case it is the first time you dare to do so.
One of those places you can go to do this activity is the west coast of Jamaica, in Negril (surely your friend @super-irie knows where it is), where there are many reefs and tour guides who will help you find the best place to enjoy.
Or if you prefer you can also opt for a guide or private service, for example getyourguide who offer a boat trip from Negril to the private island Booby Cay, where besides enjoying Jamaican food you can snorkel peacefully in the calm waters.
If you have never experienced being underwater, I recommend it, it is something unique. Here I leave a video for you to get an idea:
If you want more information about other things you can do on the Island, you can get it on this page 500miles trips.
@conradsuperb knows more about the snorkel scene than me.
I don’t swim, I just sink
Je je je
Thanks for the mention

Then you'd better wear a life jacket, you don't want to go down he, he, he
Be well.
how beautiful, I practice underwater fishing, and being able to do it in that sea would be the best
Spearfishing, nice @elkaos
Really, contact with the sea is something magical.
Definitely bringing the snorkel sets down there and will report back. Perhaps someone can lend an underwater camera.
If you can get a waterproof camera, it would be the ultimate. I'm sure you'd have some great pictures.
Maybe next time, I just bought a decent scenery lens. Time to showcase the land
