To whom do you compare yourself and why?
We all have role models, it is logical, there are people whom we admire and whom we would like to emulate with our actions to be able to somehow achieve what they have been able to achieve, we all have our examples, it is a reality. Even those people who serve as examples to ourselves have their respective personalities that they admire, it's logical, but *is it really okay to compare ourselves?
There is a big difference between having that person we admire as a role model, but the other very different thing is to compare ourselves, because by doing so we could fail to highlight our progress and even come to belittle them. This is very wrong, because by doing so we can have a negative impact on the valuation we have of ourselves and this is a way to self-limit ourselves.
So it is good to have people we admire, but we must always remember that there are particular realities that could facilitate the fact that someone advances much faster in various areas and others do not, I would like to talk about it.
Each time period has its own particularities
When we analyze the life and progress of someone we admire, we cannot only focus on the actions that he executes, because while it is true that each of us puts his best effort most of the time, there is also a social and economic reality that can facilitate or complicate the evolution and progress of someone. It is evident that if someone wants to create a great business and the country in which he lives is going through a great economic crisis, even though the needs of everything will be increased and this is the door (the crisis) for the creation of businesses, it is also very true that in many aspects it complicates everything.
So the most probable thing is that in a country in which the laws favor the creation of companies and in addition this country is not in a historical process of crisis, it will be less complicated to manage to evolve in this aspect that if you lived in a country that is submerged in a great economic depression.

Personality, skills and abilities
Another aspect that I consider necessary to evaluate is that each one of us is a unique being, with particular characteristics, and that even though we may look like someone else, we will never be the same as another person. Our parents and what we inherited from them, what they taught us in the process of growing up, among many other things, have to do with our characteristics.
These factors will also be determinants in our successes, so it is definitely not good to compare ourselves, because apart from the context, there are also other factors that in some way lend themselves to growth and others that in some way limit, so do not compare yourself more than with yourself, is my final message.
Value what you had and were last year at this same date, contemplate your achievements, your progress, and yes, it is good to have those figures as references, but our main competition should be with ourselves.
I bid you farewell, until next time.
I authorize the use of this banner to everyone who wants to do it.
"Comparisons are never good," says a friend said @josevas217, I very much agree with that, since either it can make us feel bad if we are in a worse position than the person with whom we are compared or it can make us feel haughty, and even superior to those in the worst situation.
In my opinion, the best thing is to be aware that life is a series of ups and downs that we all go through, so we can know that whoever is up another day may be down and vice versa, the same thing can happen to us, then instead of comparing ourselves with another, it is best to measure our progress with respect to our own path and when due to some circumstance, we take a step backwards, we must be aware that it is only a matter of continuing to advance.
Cheers bro, have a good night
Greetings friend @josevas217, a topic for reflection, since we should never compare ourselves with other people, looking for what they have that I don't have, or things like that, since that can only generate us a lot of problems and instidumbres, which generates that we underestimate our qualities and virtues, and in the end we end up not seeing those qualities, thanks for sharing this information.
Belittling ourselves is the worst thing we could do, it is not at all good for us as human beings or as professionals, or anything.
Greetings @ josevas217
Always in life at some point we can take someone as an example by the way they act or simply by the success they had in life, to try to emulate.
Of course as you mention in the publication, not always good because it can limit our actions. Particularly I have taken many actions of my deceased father, thinking that they have been good and I have put them into practice, adding the same, I think I have been successful.
I know that with time I will have to make adjustments depending on the context, as the years go by.
Thank you very much for sharing such an interesting publication.
Hi @josevas217
We are biological beings by nature we usually learn to defend ourselves by imitation, an element that allows us to coexist in adverse environments, that is one of the reasons why we admire certain patterns or behaviors that we observe in other people, now well, this that you mention "we could stop highlighting our progress and even come to belittle it", is something that many people do not take into account, and end up in a total lack of control in their lives, as they do not value certain potentialities of themselves.
Best regards, be well.
Good point, admiring someone is one thing, and comparing ourselves by making the other look better is a serious mistake. We shouldn't do it, it doesn't suit us at all. We should be clear about our individuality as human beings.
Hi @josevas217
I particularly think that comparing yourself to another person is not healthy.
I agree with you, evaluate what you have done and propose new goals or adjust the ones you have.
Excellent reading, regards.
Yes, let's say that everything has its nuances. The best thing to do is not to compare yourself, unless it is with yourself, and to be able to evaluate your evolution.

TrufflePigHello @josevas217 Very good post, I live in a country with crisis, I really enjoyed reading it because it has led me to reflect, I have always believed that crises of any kind bring different opportunities. We should never underestimate the environment where the crisis develops, but remember that there are people who have no choice but to stay in the country with the difficulty, it is always good to think that even if it costs a little more we can transform with our capabilities and emulating successful people own reality, best regards and thank you very much.
Hello @josevas217!
Interesting topic you got here. Well I can say in general comparing ourselves to other is completely wrong especially if they are people around us and getting all the attention from others maybe from what they've done. That is capable of building of bad relationships between people that is more likely to be full of jealous and hate.
Sometimes if we compare ourselves to people who have achieved a lot in their life and took that as a challenge it might help break our own limits and get things to work.
Nice read, thanks for sharing!
