Hornworm zombie!

in #gardening9 years ago

I have found many dead hornworns before. When I find a hornworm covered in eggs I leave it be, or move it to a place where I am sure it will love out it's life cycle. The eggs are from a parasitic hawk moth. The hatched out moths are going to go search of more tommato plant eating hornworms. This is the first hornworm I have found (like this) that was still alive. Normally when the eggs hatch the hornworm looks like a shriveled up corpse.
