The true love

1 If I do not have love, it is useless for me to speak all the languages ​​of the world, and even the language of the angels. If I do not have love, I am like a loud piece of metal; I am like an out of tune bell!

2 If I do not have love, it is useless for me to speak from God and know his secret plans. It does not help me that my trust in God makes me move mountains.

3 If I do not have love, it does not do me any good to give the poor everything I have. It is useless for me to devote myself body and soul to helping others.

4 He who loves has patience in everything, and is always kind.

The one who loves is not envious, nor believes more than anyone else.

He is not proud.

5 It is not rude or selfish.

Do not be angry about anything.

He does not spend his life remembering how bad others have done to him.

6 Do not applaud the wicked, but those who speak with the truth.

7 He who loves is capable of enduring everything, of believing everything, of waiting for everything, of bearing everything.

8 Only love lives forever. The day will come when no one will speak from God, nor speak in strange languages, nor will it be necessary to know the secret plans of God. 9 Prophecies, and all that we know now, is imperfect. 10 When that which is perfect comes, everything else will come to an end.

11 I was a kid once. And my way of speaking, my way of understanding things, and my way of thinking were those of a child. But now I am an adult person, and all that I have left behind. 12 Now we know God in a very unclear way, as when we see our image reflected in a dark mirror. But, when everything is perfect, we will see God face to face. Now I know it imperfectly; but when everything is perfect, I will be able to know him as he knows me.

13 There are three things that are permanent: trust in God, assurance that he will keep his promises, and love. Of these three things, the most important is love.
