BATHED IN ETERNITY'S MIRE (An Original Poetry)

Defunct from mortality's race
only to live past dying flowers
and exceed the the clock's ticking
I'm forlorn, stuck in adolescence
to behold the sun's figurine-like figure,
sting forever on faces like liquor
strapped inside life's embryo
like the departed ones to urnfields
and lilies to bouquets.
like Cain, a vagabond to sojourn the earth
living immortality like the sands of the seas
Sunken in eternity's mire
we're accursed to no cause
to forever listen to the rain's gentle thudding
On the canopy of empires incessantly
till the present is dotted as histories
on crumpled papyrus and tombstones
Only shedding regrets like a viper's cuticle
but the soul's tenebrosity abides in our cubicle
like a kindled conflagration in the kidney
To winter we raise gnashing goblets
commemorating the solstices
that eludes many many counts
paying unbridled homage
to this bondage called longevity
yet the wining of the birds singing sweetly
we've seen the epilogues to Calypso
trends and bends necrotize on our faces
yet we live to tell tales of evanesce
Bathed in eternity's mire
unworthy of a cemetery to call home
proclivity of a tender bosom
warm as squabbling embers
to warm the rigidity living in the loins
we would forever see the sun's banality
carnality forever etched to the firmament
conspicuously conscious to relive painful tragedies
Over and over buried in guilt's catacombs

We truly are like flies caught in honey. Forever wanting to ascend and yet we're held back by everything we think we hold dear. It's a precarious situation we find ourselves in and we're forever bound to live this cycle.
