Catalina Island

Catalina Island is a small island that is located in the Caribbean Sea, a few kilometers from the coasts southeast of the Dominican Republic.

Small because the island has just 15 square kilometers of surface, although it is the second largest island in the country, behind Saona Island.

Like the Saona, Catalina Island is a dream place, many consider that this island has the most beautiful beaches in the world, paradisiacal virgin beaches with white sand and calm crystalline waters ideal for water activities.

Lately the island is being visited by tourists, attracted by the unique natural beauty of the island in its virgin state. They also visit many tourist cruises.
The island has three main beaches, the East, the West and the North. Currently the West Beach is the most used and developed, although the other two have an enormous potential to be developed for tourism.

As we mentioned before, the island is ideal for all kinds of water activities, of which snorkeling and diving stand out, since the island has an impressive marine fauna.
On the coasts of the island is covered with coral reefs, exotic fish, starfish and other colorful species to delight your eyes, in an environment of calm crystal clear water of optimum temperature.

Undoubtedly, Catalina Island is one of the best places to dive.

To make the trip to Catalina Island, tourists from Punta Cana must first move to the town of Bayahibe, since from there the boats sail to the island.
