Greetings my dear friends of the steem kids community. I'm happy to be part of the second-week engagement contest hosted here in this community. This week the community brought to us a wonderful topic to discuss and the topic of discussion is "Impacts of Technology on kids' lives". We know that technology has exposed too many things and we want to know its impact on our kids today.
Write an overview of how technology has impacted the world as a whole.
The world we are living in is changing and more things are coming up virtually on daily basis. Technology has influenced the world in no small way. In the world today we have seen a lot of improvement that is caused because of the presence of technology. Before technology, we are aware that we use the stone to lit fires and also use it for calculations.
Today we have sources which we can light fire easily like the use of matches, lighter etc. We don't need to crack a stone any longer for fire to come up. Other ways in which we have experienced technology in the world include the use of mobile phones for communication, performing cashless transactions, I.e improvement from the barter system of trading to the use of money and even cryptocurrency.
Today, we have seen more improvement in technology where we have the blockchain and also the metaverse technology where people now can perform activities in the virtual world. A world that is generated by the computer using the 3D display which is currently the trending technology and may be completed in use in no distance.
Technology is at the stage where people can now see almost everything possible. People can now purchase plots of land in the virtual world also build a house and put them on rent and earn money which they can use in the real world. Technology has impacted the world and has made things easy and possible.
Share with us some of the positivity and negativity of technology in kids' lives.
Everything that has an advantage also has a disadvantage. The case of technology is not a different one. In this section, I will be listing a few advantages and a few disadvantages of technology to kids.
Advantages of Technology to Kids
a- Technology helps kids to improve their learning.
b- Technology helps kids to stay focused and in one place e.g playing a video game
c- Technology helps kids to interact with each other
d- Technology opens kids to more opportunities because while using the internet they will come in contact with lots of new things that may benefit them.
Disadvantages of Technology to Kids
a- One of the most disadvantages of technology to kids is the transmission of bad knowledge like watching porn etc.
b- Technology makes kids lazy because instead of taking the advantage to study hard they end up not reading at all.
c- Technology makes kids lazy from performing their house chores
d- Technology causes addiction in kids, playing video games always can make them addicted and thereby they can't survive without the game.
How would you rate the impact of technology in kids' life? Highly positive or negative? Explain.
Technology as we all know has impacted both positively and negatively to kids as I have listed their advantages as well as their disadvantages above. Both based on the question above, I am writing in favour of technology I.e I'm rating the impact of technology as positive in the lives of kids.
There is more than enough reason to support this point among which is if the right knowledge is passed to kids since technology is an embodiment of knowledge, the kids will learn faster and make better usage of all the opportunities.
Can you have control over the exposure of kids to certain technological products? How?
Yes, you can have control over the exposure of kids to certain technological products by monitoring their activities. You should provide all you want your kid to have access to and then caution him or her not to go to the places you don't want them to go. You have to regularly check their browsing history and also pass good knowledge to them so that they will continue following that procedure.
Conclusion
The impact of technology in the lives of our kids can never be undermined because it has contributed to their growth especially those that have good knowledge passed to them. I want to specially invite

Well, it's right technology has negative effects on kids if we can't keep an eye on them. We should focus on kids' early life especially 2 to 4 hours to build good habits in them. Everything has good and bad effects its upto us how we can use them in a good way or bad. Good luck.

Technology is indeed making our lives so much better. I wonder how life would have been without technology. You wouldn’t be able to read this comment now if not for technology😂. Technology as you rightly said can be used for learning by children it can also be used for other negative things.

I am also amazed at how everything changed as if the old ways never happened, technology is everywhere in anything, the need for technology cannot be overlooked but therein is nothing without its disadvantage,.

Technology has invaded all areas of our lives, so it is important to educate children about its use, and monitor their interaction with such equipment.

Technology development is improving the quality of life. This technology has both good and bad sides. But this technology is a boon for us. But we don't use it properly.Children these days are becoming addicted to technology. As a result, their future may be threatened. But there are many positive aspects of technology that can help children improve. Which you have presented very nicely in your post.
Children should be attracted to the good side of technology so that they can improve. If used properly, technology is a boon to all.
