The Sorrel plant, also known as Rumex acetosa, is a perennial herbaceous plant that belongs to the Polygonaceae family. It is commonly grown for its edible leaves, which have a sour taste due to the presence of oxalic acid.
The plant produces small, greenish or reddish-brown flowers in the summer, arranged in long, branched clusters on tall stalks.
Overall, the Sorrel plant is an attractive herbaceous perennial that can be used in a variety of culinary dishes, as well as for medicinal purposes. Its distinctive sour taste and attractive appearance make it a popular addition to any herb garden.
