New species to colonize Mars

Elon Musk has a big plan for Mars colonization and it apparently includes a long-term dream, creating new species on the red planet, the New York Times and a detailed profile on the billionaire's Martian dream revealed that Musk has talked about the idea of bioengineering to create organisms capable of withstanding the severe conditions of Mars.

Over the last decade, Musk has repeated this idea to SpaceX employees and other people close to him, like many of Musk's proposals, the suggestion of creating specific species for Mars is still quite vague, however, he has shared some of his ideas. more concrete plans for the Martian colony according to New York Times sources Musk plans dome-shaped habitats and special space suits to face the planet's severe climate, in addition Musk has a particular interest in ensuring that humanity can reproduce on Mars, he has even suggested the possibility of using your own sperm to help test the colony.

An idea that highlights his obsession with both reproduction and the colonization of Mars, Musk has already stated that the greatest current threat to humanity is the drop in fertility rates. He has 2 children with three different women and an apparent effort for mitigating this concern and a 2022 publication made it clear that if there are not enough people for Earth then there definitely will not be enough people for Mars.

When Musk sets his mind to something he occasionally makes things happen, but his timelines are often comically ambitious so they should probably be taken seriously, but without setting dates.
