Yeah, I think this kind of thing is a long term problem for steemit that needs to be fixed. Otherwise the currency won't last and grow.
We're bound to see some of this, given the daily authorship numbers have increased about a factor of 10 in the last month. I hope we can come up with a way to counteract it that isn't a financial disincentive.
